DIRECTOR ONLINE FUNDRAISING

Department:  Direct Marketing

Reports To: Senior Vice President of Direct Marketing

Purpose of Position:  The Online Fundraising Director is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive online strategy, including internal and external promotion, content creation, design development and implementation, and on-line partnership building. The Online Fundraising Director will also support marketing strategies, design plans, and overall strategic planning for the on-line area. This is a leadership position that requires someone who can motivate others to ensure the success of the department, and the organization as a whole.

Principal Responsibilities:  

  • Acquire new donors using electronic media including, but not limited to internet advertising, search, email campaigns and social media.
  • Retain and grow existing donor relationships using email and other relevant electronic media.
  • Develop an online strategy that supports Covenant House’ overall goals and oversee all aspects of its implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and execute strategies that take advantage of these opportunities.
  • Manage website development to incorporate new features and functionality.  Ensure consistency with brand strategies and support of revenue goals.
  • Develop, expand, and manage current site designs and lead appropriate redesigns when needed.
  • Identify and execute strategic partnerships to acquire compelling content, features, and online tools that support the website strategy and new donor acquisition.
  • Ability to work effectively with a team of talented and experienced staff.
  • Alert colleagues to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into our operations and activities
  • Develop and manage the organization’s entire online budget, including website development and maintenance, outreach and promotion, personnel and operations
  • Coordinate with CH local sites to develop consistency of approach.
  • Other duties as assigned by the SVP of Direct Marketing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field.
  • Seven plus (7+) years online experience, including managing strategy development, content acquisition website development and partner marketing.
  • Three to five (3-5) years experience managing content and production for high traffic websites.
  • Basic Adobe Photoshop skills.
  • Extensive contacts in the online space.
  • Track record of designing and launching new programs.
  • Experience enabling strong interdepartmental relationships.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing start-up like environment.
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team.
  • Deep desire to help kids in need.

VICE PRESIDENT OF DIRECT MARKETING

Department:  Direct Marketing

Reports To: Senior Vice President of Direct Marketing

Purpose of Position:  To steward Covenant House donorbase and generate revenue to fund Covenant House programs serving kids at risk. Raise annual revenues of $50 million or more utilizing direct mail, telephone, space advertising and online methods. This is a leadership position that requires someone who can motivate others to ensure the success of the department, and the organization as a whole.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to Telefundraising AVP, New Donor VP and Renewal VP regarding strategy, creative and analysis for donor appeals and cultivations.
  • Ensure monthly budget goals are met.
  • Maintain size and quality of donorbase in accord with annual plans.
  • Analyze donorbase in concert with external partners, recommend and implement strategic changes designed to improve efficiencies and increase revenue and donor retention.
  • Prepare annual workplan and budgets.
  • Interface with Covenant House sites in regards to DM program.
  • Coordinate with PR/Communications department and Internet Director to ensure consistent messaging and achievement of mutual goals.
  • Other duties as assigned by the SVP of Direct Marketing.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in related field.
  • Ten plus (10+) years of direct marketing experience, including managing strategy development, analysis and budget responsibilities.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Extensive contacts in the direct response fundraising arena.
  • Track record of designing and launching new programs.
  • Experience enabling strong interdepartmental relationships.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with TEAM Approach (or similar donor database software).
  • Ability to work effectively with a team of talented and experienced staff.
  • Deep desire to help kids in need.
