Short Description:

Since 1972, Covenant House has been leading the effort to help homeless kids, and we do so with unconditional love and hope. Today, we’re the largest privately funded agency in the Americas that provides food, housing, immediate crisis care, and an array of other important services to homeless and runaway kids.

Medium Description:

Over the last 37 years, Covenant House has grown from a single apartment unit to an international authority on the issues surrounding homeless youth. In that time our mission has not changed, nor has our commitment to serving homeless kids. What has changed is our size and scope. Spanning five countries in 22 locations, Covenant House provides a complete range of programs from Crisis Care to Transitional Living and every step in between.

Long Description:

In addition to food, shelter, clothing, and immediate crisis care, Covenant House provides a variety of services to homeless and runaway kids including medical care, educational and vocational programs, drug abuse treatment and prevention programs, legal aid services, recreation programs, mother/child programs, transitional living programs, life-skills training, and street outreach. Incorporated in New York City in 1972, Covenant House has facilities in 22 cities throughout the United States, Central America, and Canada. Covenant House also operates crisis hotlines in the United States (Covenant House NINELINE) and Mexico (Acercatel). Covenant House is also a leading advocate on behalf of street youth at local, state, national, and international levels of government. Covenant House is a member of the Non-Government Organization (NGO) Board of Directors of UNICEF and has taken on a prominent role in The Campaign for U.S. Ratification of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC.)
