Since the economy hit a downward trajectory in 2008, families have suffered tremendous losses and youth are being forced onto the streets and out of homes that can no longer provide for them. In cities like Detroit, Michigan, the economy has impacted youth extremely hard, making their transition out of homelessness especially difficult as the job market continues to stagnate at all time lows.
Despite the economic hardships, Covenant House Michigan and other Covenant House sites across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America are continuing to provide support, keeping our doors open and our outreach vans running.
