Crisis counseling and job training serves homeless children

Homeless kids need more than shelter. They need education, counseling, support, and love.

Crisis Counseling, Transitional Housing, Job Training, and More

A hearty meal... a shower... a fresh set of clothes... a warm, safe place to sleep....

We'll offer these basic necessities to any homeless kid who knocks on our door tonight - with no questions asked and no strings attached.

Once a young person arrives on the Covenant House doorstep, we offer unconditional love - and do our best to meet their every need, whether it's just providing a bed and a blanket, or coordinating long-term placement in one of our many programs.

The relationships our staff develop with homeless kids often start with a call to our Crisis Hotline or a meeting with a Street Outreach counselor.

We provide immediate Crisis Care, which can lead to involvement in one or more of our other programs, such as Rights of Passage, Mother/Child Services, Healthcare Services, Pastoral Ministry, Job Training, and Educational Services.

Our goal is to build a plan for the future of every Covenant House resident that will move them forward toward an independent adulthood, and free them from the risk of future homelessness. The day-to-day work is difficult, and sometimes the effort results in the heartache of losing a kid back to the streets. Some kids come to back to us multiple times before they are finally able to fully commit to the our programs.

More often than not, we're fortunate to witness the rebirth of a young life that too many had long ago left for dead.
