Homeless kid found help through outreach programs

Matt works with our street and van outreach to rescue kids from gang violence… a life he barely escaped.

Our Outreach Program is a fundamental way we can connect to homeless and at-risk kids and help get them off the streets. Our outreach teams establish trusting relationships and offer homeless kids alternatives to their desperate situations.

Traveling by van or on foot, our teams regularly visit the toughest streets in each city, seeking out the kids who might need help. They offer on-the-spot assistance with food and minor medical attention, and refer those who express the desire for additional assistance to the nearest Covenant House Crisis Center.

Every year, our outreach staff makes contact with more than 25,000 street kids, and also responds to 500,000 calls to NINELINE, our 24-hour crisis hotline.
