How We're Funded

In 2015, 80% of Covenant House Funding came from private donors and foundations. 14% of expenses went to fundraising, 13%  to administration, and 73% of all funds went to direct services to help kids. Financial integrity keeps us focused on homeless kids.

Covenant House is committed to wisely and efficiently using every dollar you donate by ensuring that the maximum amount possible goes to help homeless kids across United States, Canada, and Latin America.

Covenant House received a three-star charity rating from Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator, indicating that Covenant House "exceeds or meets industry standards and performs as well as or better than most charities in its Cause." Covenant House also meets all 20 of the comprehensive and demanding standards of the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance.

How Many We Helped in 2015

  • A total of 51,173 youth were served last year.
  • On average, 1,828 youth were sheltered at Covenant House every night of the year in 2014.
  • A total of 667,326 nights of shelter were provided.
  • Residential and Community Service Center programs cared for 29,987 youth.
  • Outreach served an additional 21,186 youth.
  • Acercatel (Mexico helpline) received 1,762 crisis calls.
