Covenant House Pennsylvania's Pledge-A-Plate Campaign
Covenant House Pennsylvania challenged their community during the month of June to imagine what life would be like with hunger as a constant companion.
The campaign called Pledge-A-Plate, chronicled the struggles of youth experiencing homelessness by asking supporters to skip one meal and donate the cost of that meal to Covenant House Pennsylvania. The campaign inspires supporters live in solidarity with youth who often have to skip meals while living on the streets.
To conclude the successful campaign, Covenant House Pennsylvania hosted an innovative pop-up theater event called The Invisible Lunch in Philadelphia’s Dilworth Park. Actors and Covenant House youth and staff orchestrated a three-course meal complete with linens, trimmings, silverware, and flowers, but no food.
Social media played a role in raising a portion of funds with supporters posting images of empty Covenant House plates to pledge their donation amount. In total
