Who we are: Covenant House Florida (CHF) provides shelter and services to children and youth under the age of 21 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. We have two locations in Florida: Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, where we serve a total of 2,303 youth annually. All our services are free. CHF also advocates on behalf of youth to raise awareness in the community about their needs and hopes.
Our shelter: CHF’s shelter in Fort Lauderdale provides safe haven for young people facing homelessness. Our shelter is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We provide youth with a nourishing meal, clean clothes, and a safe place to sleep, and offer them an array of services to help them either reunite with their families or develop the skills they need to live independently.
Our programs: Young people in Fort Lauderdale can access our short-term emergency care through CHF’s street outreach, drop-in center, and emergency shelter. Youth also may participate in our transitional housing program, Rights of Passage, when they are ready to take this step toward independence.
