Visit Shelter HomepageWho we are: Covenant House Pennsylvania (CHP) is a program for young people in desperate situations age 21 and under. Our goal is to help young people facing homelessness become healthy, happy, responsible, productive, and independent adults. CHP has two locations in Pennsylvania: Philadelphia and York, where we serve a total of about 3,200 youth annually, and all our services are free.
Our shelter: CHP’s sanctuary program in York serves at-risk youth of the region, offering them vital services that include food, clothing, showers, a safe place to sleep, and other immediate needs.
Our programs: Young people can access short-term emergency care in York through CHP’s street outreach program, drop-in center, and emergency shelter (sanctuary). In addition to meeting youths’ immediate needs, we also provide educational and vocational services and case management. Staff also provide referrals to local service providers for physical and mental health care, drug and alcohol counseling, and legal services.
