Youth Shelter and Housing

Covenant House California offers youth shelter and housing in Oakland and beyond. At our Oakland site, we serve at-risk youth throughout the area, offering a safe, welcoming space and vital services.

  • Crisis Care & Short-Term Shelter: Through our Safe Havenprogram, we offer immediate emergency shelter where youths’ basic needs are met, including a meal, shower, hygiene products, clothes, medical care, and a warm bed. They will then be connected to supportive services to help them thrive.
  • Rights of Passage: Our transitional housing program offers longer-term housing and support to help youth prepare for and transition to independent living.
  • Rapid Re-Housing: H2O (Housing2Opportunity), CHC’s Rapid Re-Housing program, helps young people secure apartments, cover move-in and rental costs, and provide ongoing support for up to 24 months before our former residents can take over their leases.
