Breaking Chains: Corporate Action Against Human Trafficking
In 2024, nearly 20% of the 57,000 young people Covenant House supported across the United States and Canada were trafficked. For LGBTQ+ young people in our care, the number was almost 1 in 3. These figures reflect a crisis that demands attention and coordinated action from industries that are uniquely positioned to prevent youth exploitation.
As part of National Human Trafficking Prevention Month, we invite leaders from across the travel, entertainment, and hospitality industries to join us for a conversation about how these sectors can strengthen safety within their operations, build stronger cross-sector partnerships, and help protect vulnerable young people.
This exclusive forum will share powerful stories from young people who have experienced trafficking and highlight the practical steps frontline industries can take to identify and interrupt exploitation.
Covenant House is the largest provider of shelter and services for youth facing homelessness in North America, and our staff work directly with thousands of young people every year. This on-the-ground experience gives us a clear view of the tactics traffickers use, the moments where safety systems break down, and where early warning signs can easily go unnoticed.
This discussion will feature these insights, along with industry best practices and effective strategies to to reduce risk and create safer environments for young people.
