Covenant House Florida x Arc Culinary = Lives Transformed

Covenant House Florida has made it a priority to work with other organizations in the community to exponentially increase their social impact. When they were making decisions about kitchen management and meal procurement at the Ft. Lauderdale site, they selected Arc Broward Culinary as their food services partner. 

Arc is a nonprofit organization that works with children and adults with autism, Down syndrome, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, and actively supports their full inclusion and participation in the community. Arc Broward operates two social enterprises that provide job training and employment opportunities. 

“Arc Culinary hires and trains adults with disabilities so Covenant House Florida is not only supporting our own young people through food security, but also other young people with life challenges who are served by Arc Broward. It’s a win-win situation for all involved,” says Rebecca D’Amico, director of development at Covenant House Florida. 

In the U.S. alone, 4.9 million young people had too little to eat at a given time during the pandemic. With supply chains challenged and the high cost of food, hunger remains a threat. Across Covenant House sites, we are committed to provide youth nutritious meals and healthy snacks every day to fuel their healing, growth, and stability.
