At Covenant House, food is love. This holiday season, we invited supporters to share their favorite recipes with our youth and staff, and we chose seven of them for an afternoon of cooking and baking at Covenant House New York. We are so grateful to our community for generously sharing their family recipes with us and helping to create such a special day for our young people!
As we look ahead to World Religion Day on January 18, we wanted to share this reflection early, because the values it honors guide our work with young people every single day.
This month, as part of Youth Homelessness ACTION Month, we’re lifting up a new storytelling series.
It’s told across five weeks—five true stories from across our federation—that together capture the arc of what Covenant House really means to our young people. Each week in November, we’ll spotlight one story on our channels, moving through five stages of a young person’s journey:
Intake. Support. Growth. Independence. Community.
It’s a story in five parts. But really, it’s one story—a single thread of courage, care, and transformation that connects every Covenant House.
Covenant House is bringing together advocates, staff, youth, and key stakeholders in the US Federal government to discuss critical issues affecting youth homelessness.
When Hurricane Katrina struck 20 years ago, Covenant House New Orleans became a lifeline for an entire community. For Clinton Charlot, then our director of finance, the storm changed not only his work, but his life.
