MÖTLEY CRÜE
Launches Special Charity Auction of Instruments Played at Historic Höllywood Takeöver Club Shows
Band's Cancelled EP Featuring Three New Tracks Drops Friday, Oct. 3
LOS ANGELES, CA (October 1, 2024) — Mötley Crüe is turning up the volume on their recently announced Mötley Crüe Giveback Initiative – a long-term philanthropic commitment to partner with non-profits close to Vince, Nikki, Tommy, and John's hearts. For the remainder of 2024, the band has set a fundraising goal of $250,000 for Covenant House, a non-profit supporting youth experiencing homelessness, and the first charity to benefit from the Giveback Initiative’s endowment.
“Young people facing homelessness have fallen through the cracks,” bassist Nikki Sixx explains. “A lot of these kids end up bouncing from couch to couch and friend to friend, and a lot of them end up on the street in some really horrible situations they don’t know how to get out of. We want people to know about the great work Covenant House does. We want them to know the money they’re donating is going to good use. It’s actually going to help the kids.” – Nikki Sixx (Bassist, Mötley Crüe)
Tying into their hotly anticipated, three-show Höllywood Takeöver, the band kicked off their fundraising efforts by auctioning a pair of tickets to one of the sold-out shows earlier this month, giving fans a chance to see the iconic band return to the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA while supporting a great cause. Additionally, on October 8, Mötley Crüe is hosting an exclusive, intimate charity dinner at the legendary Rainbow Bar and Grill with all proceeds from the evening also benefiting Covenant House.
“Hosting this special dinner with Covenant House means a lot to us. By coming together, we can offer young people safety, support, a place to call home, and the chance at a future full of possibilities.” - Vince Neil (Vocalist, Mötley Crüe)
Continuing their fundraising efforts for Covenant house, today Mötley Crüe launched a very special auction for one-of-one, hand-signed, stage-played instruments of all four band members from each of the three Höllywood Takeöver club shows at the Troubadour (10/7), The Roxy (10/9), and the Whisky A Go Go (10/11). The band personally curated three unique collector's microphones, snare drums, basses, and guitars that are specific to each show and will be played by each band member at the club shows taking place next week. The ultra-rare instrument collectibles are being complimented by personal items from the band members that come along with each instrument, such as Vince Neil's custom pentagram mic stand and stage worn gloves, bandana and guitar pick collection; Tommy Lee's snare drum stand, show played-sticks, and show-worn gloves; Nikki Sixx's silver bracelets from his personal jewelry collection, and bass picks unique to each show; and John 5's stage-worn custom vegan leather jackets, Vans, and guitar picks, amongst other things.
“Every young person deserves a safe place to sleep and the opportunity to thrive. So, let’s rally, change some lives, and make it so every kid has a place to call home sweet home!” - Tommy Lee (Drummer, Mötley Crüe)
All instruments and signatures will be certified by leading authentication company Definitive Authentic, the group that also powers Mötley Crüe's online museum, the Crüeseum. Click HERE now to bid on your favorite items from all four band members. “Rallying support for Covenant House is truly inspiring. They are a remarkable organization and their tireless efforts to combat youth homelessness makes a real difference. Let's support and give every youth the chance they deserve.” - John 5 (Guitarist, Mötley Crüe)
All fundraising efforts will precede the release of Mötley Crüe’s highly anticipated Cancelled EP, which drops this Friday, Oct. 4. The record marks the band’s first release with Big Machine Rock and includes three new tracks: the Top 5 Rock Radio hit “Dogs Of War,” a cover of the Beastie Boys’ “Fight For Your Right,” and the title track, “Cancelled.” Listen to “Fight For Your Right” HERE and pre-save the Cancelled EP HERE.
