Random Acts of Kindness Day
National Random Acts of Kindness Day is a reminder that kindness doesn’t have to be grand to be life-changing. For young people experiencing homelessness, a single act of care can mean safety, dignity, and the belief that tomorrow can look different from today. On February 17, we invite you to join Covenant House in turning compassion into action for youth who need it most.
Every day across our sites, kindness shows up in quiet, powerful ways. As Maurice, a program manager in our Rights of Passage program, puts it, “Every day I am inspired by the kindness of our young people.” He sees it when youth welcome someone new through our doors with a smile, an offer to help carry their belongings, or simply the reassurance that they are safe here. These moments, born from lived experience and resilience, remind us why kindness is at the heart of everything we do.
Your support on Random Acts of Kindness Day helps ensure that when a young person arrives at Covenant House, they are met with more than just services. They are met with shelter, nourishing meals, medical care, guidance toward independence, and a community that believes in them. Together, we can turn everyday kindness into lasting hope and open the door to brighter futures.
