The New York Yankees and Covenant House, the largest nonprofit in the Americas providing safe shelter and supportive services for youth experiencing homelessness and survivors of trafficking, are calling on New Yorkers to join the Sleep Out at Yankee Stadium this fall.

Participants will spend the night in the outfield at Yankee Stadium from Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7:00 p.m. to Friday, Nov. 20, at 7:00 a.m. To take part in the event, fans ages 12 and older are asked to raise a minimum of $1,000 in support of Covenant House and register at sleepoutyankees.org. An alternate location at the ballpark will be available in the event of inclement weather.

The Sleep Out at Yankee Stadium is more than a night in an iconic ballpark. It is an act of solidarity with young people experiencing homelessness and a powerful evening of advocacy. Current and former Covenant House residents will share their stories, experts will help participants learn how to advocate for solutions, and attendees will build meaningful connections in support of the cause.

Funds raised will support efforts to address the growing youth homelessness crisis in New York City, where Covenant House New York has provided shelter and care for youth, young families, and survivors of human trafficking for more than five decades.

More than 4.2 million young people in the U.S. experience homelessness each year. According to recent data from the New York State Education Department, more than 154,000 New York City students experienced homelessness during the last school year. It was the tenth straight year that more than 100,000 students in the city lacked a permanent place to live. These staggering numbers underscore why public awareness, advocacy, and fundraising are more urgent than ever.

“Being deeply involved with Covenant House over the last 15 years, I have seen the transformative effect of its expert care and programming,” said Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman. “More than ever, Covenant House needs to stay strong, and participating in this event provides the critical funding required to change the trajectory of the lives of thousands of young people across the country who deserve a chance to have happy and productive futures.”

“We are excited to bring the Sleep Out back to Yankee Stadium,” said Bill Bedrossian, president and CEO of Covenant House International. “Our last Sleep Out there was in 2019 and raised nearly $2 million, and we expect the 2026 event to be even more successful. This will mark our board member Brian Cashman’s fifteenth Sleep Out, and we are deeply grateful for the leadership of Brian, his colleagues, and Yankees fans across the city in helping change the lives of vulnerable young people in this city.”
