Bill Bedrossian’s pitch launches campaign for Phillies Sleep Out at Citizen’s Bank Park

Citizens Bank Park

On Nov. 20, hundreds of Phillies fans will spend the night sleeping on the field at Citizen’s Bank Park. By giving up their beds for one night, they'll raise critical funds to help advance solutions for the growing youth homelessness crisis in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, where Covenant House Pennsylvania has been providing youth a safe place to sleep for 25 years.

In recognition of this announcement, Covenant House International President & CEO (and lifelong Phillies fan) Bill Bedrossian, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before tonight’s game against the Miami Marlins. He will be joined by Covenant House Pennsylvania CEO Alexia Clarke.

“Every young person deserves a safe place to call home,” says Alexia. “At Covenant House PA, we remain resolute in our commitment to providing shelter, care, and hope to youth facing homelessness and human trafficking. The funds raised by the community champions who join the Phillies Sleep Out will be put to work immediately to support housing, food, medical and mental health services, education programs, workforce development, and critical resources for our street outreach. We can’t do this work alone and we are so grateful to the entire Phillies organization for making this possible.”

The fans sleeping at The Bank will join thousands of Covenant House supporters across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico who will spend the night of Nov. 20 outside. The 2025 Sleep Out movement is expected to raise over $14 million to provide 24/7 shelter, sanctuary, and support to youth overcoming homelessness.
