New York Giants to Host First Ever Sleep Out at MetLife Stadium in Partnership with Covenant House
East Rutherford, N.J. - On Thursday, May 4, 2023, the New York Giants will host a powerful and unique event on the field at MetLife Stadium to support youth overcoming homelessness and survivors of human trafficking served by Covenant House New Jersey.
Sleep Out: Women Unite, hosted by Beth Daboll, wife of Giants head coach Brian Daboll, and Marie Schoen, wife of Giants general manager Joe Schoen, invite women from across the tri-state area to give up their beds for one night and sleep on the field at MetLife Stadium to raise funds and awareness for Covenant House New Jersey.
“This is an incredible opportunity to join in solidarity for a vitally important cause, the future of our young people,” said Daboll. “We know there is nothing more powerful than a community of strong women dedicated to creating opportunities for young people to build a bright future. A life free of homelessness and human trafficking is within the reach of young people when they come to Covenant House New Jersey, and on May 4 we will come together to raise money that will give young people a fresh start.”
“There will be business leaders, community groups, mothers and aunts and grandmothers, all of whom believe in the great promise of our young people,” said Schoen. “A highlight of the night will be hearing from the young people who every day are doing the work to pursue the great promise of their lives. It will be an unforgettable night of community.”
“The entire New York Giants family have been champions for young people facing homelessness for so many years,” said Julia Einbond, Incoming Executive Director at Covenant House New Jersey. “We are grateful to the Mara and Tisch families, the Giants organization, and Giants running back Saquon Barkley, who have all demonstrated a deep commitment to the mission. We are thrilled to now have Beth and Marie leading the way for this important night. MetLife Stadium has seen many great moments through the years, and on May 4 that tradition will continue with this first of its kind event on the field. We look forward to uniting caring teams of women into a broader community, with the power to create lasting change for our young people.”
Throughout the course of the evening, participants will have the opportunity to meet members of Covenant House New Jersey and the Giants organization that champion the issues of youth homelessness and human trafficking.
