Visit Shelter HomepageWho we are: Covenant House California (CHC) provides sanctuary and support for youth ages 18-24 facing homelessness and human trafficking. We have three locations: Hollywood, Oakland, and Berkeley, where we serve over 3,200 youth annually. Our programs and services are designed to advance youths’ physical, emotional, educational, vocational, and spiritual well-being in order to provide them with the best chance for success in independence. All our programs and services are free of charge.
Our shelter: In Hollywood, CHC’s Safe Haven shelter immediately provides for youths’ basic human needs and urgent medical care. Young people receive a nutritious meal, take a shower with new personal care products, receive new clothes, and sleep in a warm, safe bed. They are then connected to supportive services that will help them thrive.
Our programs: Young people in Los Angeles can access our short-term emergency care through CHC’s street outreach, drop-in center, and emergency shelter programs. Young people may also participate in our transitional housing program, Rights of Passage, our Supportive Apartments Program and Rapid-Rehousing.
