Covenant House New York is proud to be New York City’s largest provider serving youth experiencing homelessness. We provide affirming and transformative services so each young person can create their own path to independence. Our services are free, and our doors are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Youth Shelter and Housing
Covenant House New York offers four housing programs for young people who are facing homelessness or housing instability in New York City.
- Crisis Shelter: Short-term shelter providing youth with a meal, shower, clean clothes, and a safe place to sleep. We work with each young person to create a personalized plan to help them reach their goals.
- Rights of Passage: Our transitional housing program offers longer-term housing and support to help youth prepare for and transition to independent living.
- Mother & Child Programs: Providing shelter and support for young mothers and their babies. Young parents can also access free medical and childcare, parenting support and education.
- Permanent Housing: Our Family Covenant and Rapid Re-Housing programs provide youth with access to permanent supportive housing placements.

Our Programs and Services
Beyond shelter, we offer comprehensive programs and services to meet the immediate and long-term needs of youth experiencing homelessness.
- Our on-site clinic provides access to free medical and mental health services.
- Young people can access short-term emergency care through CHNY’s outreach program and drop-in services.
- Our education and workforce development program, CovWorks, offers job training, help finding and securing work, and overall support to help young people build sustainable careers on their path to independence.
