former homeless youth at Covenant House Houston | homeless shelters in houston

Covenant House Texas (CHT) provides shelter for young people ages 18-24 who are facing homelessness, abuse, or abandonment. We are committed to providing young people a safe haven, unconditional love, absolute respect, and a path to lasting independence. All our services are free.

Our Shelter

At CHT’s emergency shelter, young women and men are assured of a safe space, warm meals, free health care, and supportive services. This includes parenting programs that welcome young adults and their children up to age 5.

Our Programs

Youth can access short-term emergency care through CHT’s street outreach program, drop-in services, and emergency shelter. They have access to meals, clothing, showers, recreational activities, health care, and more. Our transitional housing program, Rights of Passage, helps youth hone independent living skills for up to two years. CHT also reaches out to vulnerable youth and their parents through our PEP TALK program to help them avoid homelessness before it happens.
